(More customer reviews)I bought this set for my son's lunches at daycare. I have to pack our own food and they have a tiny fridge to store items in. I thought this would be a great set to have so his food will stay cold all day long. While 1 cup doesn't seem like a lot of food, it is. He doesn't eat a lot and when you are trying to pack a bunch of different items like fruit, veggies and a main meal it's a lot to put all into a lunch bag when a child's lunch bag isn't very big to begin with. If they had a container that was divided, it would be much better for a kid's lunch set. Or if other containers would fit inside each other for better storage that would also help. Bento style.
Also some of the info I had researched said it would keep things cold for something like 10 hours. I thought this would be great because if there are leftovers it would still be good when I get home to use later. When we get home 9 hours later the food is not that cold and the ice packs are completely thawed out. I even usually put frozen veggies in there to begin with. I liked the ice pack idea for each container also because if we are going somewhere I can take some snacks with me. It would have been a lot better if the ice packs were on the bottom of the container instead of the inside of the lid. That way the food actually would sit on the cold ice pack and not underneath it where it doesn't even touch the food. I think it would make things stay cold longer. There are markings on the containers that say how many cups etc. Those came off the 2nd time I hand washed these containers. Also in my research I found people complaining about the hot container not being to open once you close it up with hot items in it. Because of this I have been afraid to use this container and take it to school to find out my son doesn't have a lunch for the day. This set would be better if it had the drink container with it.
Overall I am happy with the set. I think there could be a couple of improvements to make it even better! I would buy it again and I will most likely get more small containers to have on hand.
